Yes, i was talking about pebble. Trying to beat up cory is like trying to kill a tank by scratching it with a paint chip. presidential

Pebble....I actually built one of those when I was a kid. I went to the soap box derby to win, if not by speed then by sheer power of the potatoe gun.

No, no, definately not. I grew up. So of course I'm the bigger tank.

Well, having never played that game, I really can't tell. But just by looking at the pic...It's close. I believe I'm a much better read person though.

My dear and highly-respected colleagues *, I am in need of your help.
I am writing something, you see.
Mind you, I have been 'writing' this something for quite some time now (*ahem*), but that is beside the point.
The problem is, I have come to a roadblock in my storming of brains, and I cannot for the life of me think of a way past it.
The trouble is this, and I shall phrase it in the form of a question: What, may I ask, would prevent an officer of the Enclave from blowing the Lone Wanderer's head off on sight, or vice versa?
Because -short of being out of ammunition- I can't think of a damn thing. ;3;

I should perhaps describe the scene in question a little more clearly. Bear with me here; I'm still in the 'planning' process. Cursed plot monkeys.

The timeline is about a month or so after storming the Jefferson Memorial; the setting is Rockland. Outside, the smoking wreckage of Liberty Prime. What's left of it anyway**.
Obviously, the surrounding area is swarming with Brotherhood personnel, and a somewhat bitter and resentful Lone Wanderer*** has been sent indoors to deal with any remaining resistance. Also to find out WTF just happened. Presumably. >.>
She kicks in a side door, finds herself in a communications hub, turns a corner, and nearly walks smack into (one of) the commanding officer(s). I have magnanimously awarded him the title of Second Most Unlucky Officer in the Wastes. (The Most Unlucky Officer in the Wastes, naturally, had his head forcibly removed from his shoulders and is no longer amongst the living.)

Thus the start of a Beautiful Friendship is born.
And by Beautiful Friendship, I of course mean "oh god I must be dead and am in hell" partnership, borne of a mutual desire for self-preservation.

Because nothing pleases the Metro like mercilessly tormenting fictional characters.

Allow me to clarify still further.
This whole thing basically developed out of a desire to haul Lt. Williams, the hapless officer who accosts you the minute you set foot out of your Raven Rock holding cell, around with me on adventuuuuuuuures.
...Don't ask me 'why', all right, I just did. >.>
In-game, it was simple enough: use SCC to nab him, then just never let him out of my sight (barring the Take it Back! questline, wherein I had him wait in Megaton).
The trouble is, this would never actually in a million years work from a storytelling perspective. A.) Fawkes would be standing right there the whole time, and Enclave and Super Mutants do not mix; b.) Williams would be shot on sight the instant he set foot near the Citadel; and c.) the whole point of Take it Back! was to launch an assault on the Autumnist Enclave (NOES. D: ).
And... you know. A bunch more reasons.

So, again, from a storytelling standpoint: he gets his ass hauled backwards out of Raven Rock, and left more or less intact just outside the main entrance, shellshocked and trying to grasp what the hell just happened.
Call it a crisis of conscience, if you will. Or just the LW's sudden and inexplicable desire for an Enclave meat shield. Whichever.

So long story short, I would merge gameplay and story segregation (if you will) by the above means... if, like I said, I could only figure out how to keep them from shooting each other.

ARGH.

...This has been your daily 'ramble' quotient. Honestly, I'd be amazed if you could even figure out what I was talking about. I don't know what I'm talking about half the time.
Eh. What the hell, if nothing comes of it at least it made me feel better. ;3;

-----

*-(*snerk*)

**-Serves it right, the big tin bastard.

***-You'll have to forgive her. She woke up from a coma, managed to get her feet under her, and was immediately strongarmed into a faction war she has absolutely no desire to be involved in.
Makes her surly.
